Discription
The LS-1204 AIR (copper) already impressed the experts. AUDIO summed it up as follows: "A stroke of genius that also shows the competitors the limits in terms of sound. It was wonderfully dynamic, the most beautiful drive reached the speaker membranes. Admittedly, the price is not small, but the sound output is truly world class. In addition, everything is handmade. You can feel the love for the product."
With the LS-1205 AIR Pure Silver, the most delicate model in AIR technology is now also available as a pure silver cable. The structure, dimensions and arrangement of the conductors in this cable also correspond to the copper version LS-1205 AIR. As with the LS-4005 AIR Pure Silver and LS-2405 AIR Pure Silver, the conductors have been optimized. The LS-1205 AIR Pure Silver also uses pure silver as the conductor material. Silver is currently the best conductive material under realistic conditions. At 61.35 S/m (Siemens per meter), it has around six percent better conductivity than copper. The electrons move 1.5 times faster than in a copper conductor!
The Air Helix structure guides the conductors freely through the cable
The Air Helix design allows for almost 100 percent air between the signal conductors. Specially developed clips form the supporting framework. Lined up inside the cable, a large number of clips guide the signal conductors freely through the air in a helix shape through the cable. The flexibility of this design is achieved by two bars that hold the clips together and precisely spaced apart. This architecture is unique. The result is low line capacitance and low dielectric losses - an audiophile milestone for open and unadulterated sound experiences.
Our physical approach: minimize losses for faithful reproduction
The reference AIR cables transport the audio signals between source, amplifier and loudspeaker in an unadulterated and low-loss manner. You experience music as the artists expressed it emotionally at the moment of recording. Sensual, subtle, funny, orchestral, rousing, rocky. Vocals and instruments are transported authentically. Everything seems alive. Emotions jump over suddenly. The pieces of music touch and evoke feelings, even after listening to them a hundred times.
Point-to-Point Air-Helix for seamless transition to the plugs
New in the 5th generation is the point-to-point connection of the Air Helix construction from in-akustik. Specially designed transitions for every cable and plug type ensure a direct, immediate connection. From the beginning of the cable to the end of the cable, AIR Helix construction from point to point. What sounds banal at first has an effect. The sound signals are transported with little loss, even the last few centimeters. The sound is even more detailed and finely dynamic.
The ladder structure
The Cross Link Super Speed waveguide avoids skin effects caused by eddy currents in the conductor. The braided structure allows the waveguide to precisely transmit even extreme current peaks. A layer of varnish around each wire prevents eddy currents within the conductor and protects against oxidation. The result is a conductor that transmits a balanced sound with lively tones that are not overemphasized in any area, even in complex musical passages and at high levels.
Pure silver conductor
High-purity silver is considered the best electrical conductor. Silver delivers more details across all frequency ranges. We attribute the charismatic sound of high-purity silver primarily to the high drift speed. Pure silver cables should not be confused with silver-plated cables. Silver-plated cables are said to have a metallic, aggressive sound character, which is definitely not the case with pure silver cables.
The multicore structure
A critical component of loudspeaker cables is inductance. The clever arrangement of the conductors in the multiple nested multicore structures creates overlapping areas of the magnetic fields, which significantly reduce inductance. The entire frequency spectrum, including high audio frequencies and dynamic pulse sequences, are transmitted unhindered and without time delay. Music sounds more detailed. The sound is more finely dynamic. All details are worked out precisely and harmoniously at the same time.
The cable manufacturer
The heart of in-akustik is our factory. From here we write success stories - with a lot of joy in our work, passion for music and attention to detail. For us, enjoying music means creating a sound experience that is as close as possible to the original recording and the artists' interpretation. That's why you'll find committed people here, driven by curiosity and a sense of precision, fascinated by music and the extraordinary, such as the development of our elaborate AIR cables.
Handmade
Each cable is handcrafted with the utmost care. Our extensive know-how and the qualifications of our team enable us to manufacture the elaborate cables tailor-made. In addition to using the finest materials, our most important asset is the hands of our cable workers. They assemble our extraordinary cables with the utmost care, calm and dedication.
Precise quality control
Manufacturing is carried out to the highest standards. Precise quality control is carried out before, during and after assembly. We check the tolerances of each individual part. At each production step, we check the configuration and electrical system for short circuits. We carry out functional and mechanical tests. No product leaves our factory without a final quality control.
Would you have thought...
...that our LS-1205 AIR Pure Silver (2 x 3 m; SW) consists of 534 individual parts? The pure silver wire used has a length of 647 m and the PE monofilament 667 m. The Air Helix structure of this type, which has 1584 holes, requires the utmost skill when threading the cables.
AIR Background
It is widely known that the so-called dielectric (= non-conductive substance) of capacitors plays a major role in the sound of hi-fi devices and loudspeakers. This is why engineers select all components very carefully. Even if they only contain a few cubic millimeters of dielectric: a meter-long cable usually contains several hundred cubic centimeters of dielectric substance in the form of insulating material. This dielectric stores electrical charge, i.e. energy - which is entirely desired and necessary in electronic components such as capacitors. In the case of cables, however, the resulting capacitance is considered a "parasitic" effect and is undesirable for unadulterated music reproduction because it significantly influences the transmission properties and leads to interactions with the connected electronics.
Rhodium plated
The best cable requires optimal connection technology. We use tellurium copper, a harder metal alloy that maintains the high conductivity. Compared to brass plugs, the conductivity values are significantly better. The rhodium coating ensures long-lasting contact and corrosion resistance. Even with frequent modifications, the stable conductivity is maintained. This is better than gold contacts, which wear out more quickly.
Crimped contacts (1.5 tons)
The contact elements of the connectors are pressed directly onto the conductor material using a special tool with a force of 1.5 tons. This creates a stable and reliable connection without the use of solder or wire end ferrules. Contact resistance and negative effects are avoided to ensure optimal signal transmission.
