PMC Hi-Fi Concert at Elegant Music Garden

31st October 2015 saw a "PMC Hi-Fi Concert" in Guangzhou, held by Elegant Music Garden (EMG). The Auditorium was packed with over 100 audiophiles and music lovers, who gathered together for an enjoyable weekend.

 

Developed exclusively for Mainland China based on PMC's reputable MB2 SE, the MB2 Deluxe monitor speaker made its debut in China and aroused great expectations. The new speaker distinguishes itself from its predecessor in terms of aesthetic and sonic refinements - Santos Rosewood veneer with hand-matched, symmetrical grain and silky, smooth finish and a newly designed, high performance treble unit that elevates the already sharp and prominent soundstaging. Its 25mm SONOTEX™ soft dome is driven by six neodymium magnets in a circular array delivers exceptional linearity, enhances efficiency and reduces distortion arising from excessive sound pressure level. The partnering speaker stand has undergone vast improvements. The wood frame with a built-in 10mm solid steel plinth is effectively decoupled to  suppress vibrations thereby enhancing bass definition and power.

 

Mr. Franz Chan of Richcoln Company Ltd gave a brief introduction of the ancillary equipment used in the Hi-Fi concert - Acoustic Signature "Triple-X" turntable and TA-1000 tonearm, Soundsmith "Sussurro" fixed coil cartridge, Burmester Phono 100 phono amplifier, Octave HP700 valve preamplifier and Bryston's 28B SST² mono power amplifiers. This was Elegant Music Garden's first event using pure analogue equipment as source. This reflected the increasing popularity of music recorded on vinyl. As a guru of vinyl reproduction Mr. Chan possesses profound knowledge and is gifted with excellent command of analogue playback system. He shared with audiophiles superb music recordings and demonstrated various types of system setup.   

 

The Hi-Fi concerts ended with presentation of souvenirs by EMG the organizer and Richcoln Company Ltd.
