"New from this German firm are the HP300SE vacuum tube preamplifier and the MRE220 monaural tube amplifiers. The latter were developed from the ground up as an amalgamation of the MRE 130 and prize-winning RE290 stereo amp. The RE290 had been optimized for the KT120 power pentode, won the 2011 'Golden Sound Award' from Japan's Stereo Sound magazine and is widely used by reviewers as a reference amplifier. Those existing concepts have now migrated to the new MRE220..."
